Cools Farm Organics

Here at Cools Farm, we are situated on the edge of the Cranborne Chase in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our aim is to produce flavourful, organic meats on a completely grass fed diet with regenerative farming fuelling our desire to farm in a sustainable way for a healthier planet.

Certified Organic with the Soil Association

"Organic is the cream of the crop when it comes to animal welfare; it demands the highest standards of any farming system."

Along with being certified with the Soil Association, all of our cattle and sheep are 100% Grass-fed on our diverse organic grasslands.

Regenerative Farming Methods

Through practising a pattern of regenerative grazing called holistic grazing, also similar to the term 'mob grazing' we are increasing our soil health, sward diversity and maintaining our level of carbon sequestration.

Our holistic grazing patterns ensure that our pastures have an adequate rest time, we work on “the third rule” a third grazed, a third trampled and a third left.

Increasing Biodiversity

From Cools Farm to Lower Pertwood our aim is to conserve, protect and increase the biodiversity of our pastures.

Our organic pastures are rich with native flora and fauna, diverse from pasture to pasture. We maintain our extensive range of wildflowers at Cools by not grazing those pastures in their flowing period, letting them go to seed and regenerate for the following year.

During the summer months our cattle graze the downlands at Pertwood. Our Red Polls are native conservational graziers, when paired with low stocking densities they maintain the delicate eco systems and increase the biodiversity that thrive on Pertwood's Ancient downlands.
