The prize-winning, Pedigree Cools Herd of Red Poll Cattle is managed regeneratively for the maximum benefit of soil health, with aims to aid in the reduction of climate change. Our herd is organic, grass-fed on the pastures at Cools Farm & additional local, organic land in the south of Wiltshire totalling 610 acres.
We are the largest Organic herd of Pedigree Red Polls in the UK.
We have x70 suckler cows, accompanied by our three Pedigree bulls, Nobody’s Legacy, Appleton Solstice & Canute Max together, with followers graze over permanent pasture at home, Cools Farm and at Pertwood Organic Farm. New for Autumn 2022 Our Exlana flock of 240 ewes, share grazing between Cools Farm, Pertwood Organic Farm and the organic water meadows of the nearby village of Mere.
Certified Organic with the Soil Association, we maintain our herd & flock health status by maximising prevention of diseases & reducing the use of veterinary medicines, we never carry out routine application of medications to any of our stock, therefore reducing resistance of antibiotics & anthelmintics. The welfare of our animals is extremely important to us and this shows in our quality of meat.

Our Produce
The Beef that comes from our Pedigree Red Polls is truly known for the flavour, due to being slow maturing at around 28 months and raised on an organic grass-fed system. The perfect balance between meat and fat gives you a magnificent marble effect on our cuts of beef.
We refer our Red Poll beef to ‘a fine wine’.
The Lamb comes from our Exlana flock. The ewes go back to an Exlana Ram, the lamb the comes from Exlana's is a tender and lean. This combined with being on our organic grass-fed system creates delicious cuts of meat.
To manage our stock control and keep the integrity of our products at this current time purchasing through our online store is frozen meats only. Freezing does not compromise the taste and will keep the flavour and nutritional values it also allows us to distribute all year (when stock allows).
